Today we took Gus to my trainer, Janie. First, we began by lunging him to see how he moves, what he does, and what he knows. He was really good and very responsive to my cues and voice. Then, we saddled him up and I lunged him again the same as the first time. After that, Janie grabbed a bit that she thought would work best and we worked on him flexing his neck both ways. Then I got on him and we began to walk him around a little bit. Janie asked me to stop him, turn him, and flex him. He responded very well and he didn't seem to be bothered or nervous about anything at all. Then when we felt comfortable, we began to trot him around and he responded well to my leg and voice. We also tried leg yields on him and he still knew the command from the pressure of my leg. We plan to continue this tomorrow. I'm so excited to see what else Gus can do, he really is a cute horse to be around. I have videos and pictures that I will share also.
